Small Gas Appliances Innovation

Gas appliances are devices that run on a source of gas fuel, which is ignited in order to produce heat needed for various types of operation. Most of these devices use natural gas, which is pumped into the appliance from main lines, but some are also designed to work with propane for those who do not live anywhere near natural gas lines. As household devices become more complex, more appliances are adding features that take advantage of gas heat.

Intelligent Fireplaces

Gas fireplaces have been around for some time, but manufacturers are creating compact and intelligent models. These models typically come with integrated electronics that allow users to control the fireplace settings and temperature using a remote control. They also incorporate thermostat sensors that can operate the gas fireplace if the air in the house becomes too cold.

Dryers can use either electricity or gas, but gas is generally considered the best options, especially for compact versions. Gas creates heat more quickly, which means that gas dryers can heat up faster, especially those designed to only carry small loads. Gas is also much less expensive to use than an electrical heating element, leading to savings for users.

Warming Drawer

Warming drawers are what they sound like -- metal drawers attached to ovens or gas grills that keep a pocket of air warm enough to heat but not cook. Users can store cooked food in these warming drawers to keep it hot and ready to serve while they are preparing other food. Some warming drawers are separate from grills and depend on electric heating elements, while others borrow gas heat.

Compact Cooking Surfaces

Compact cooking surfaces are used as a replacement for full stoves in apartments and other types of buildings where space is very limited and all counter space is important. For these places, compact cooking surfaces provide several ceramic or metallic coverings embedded into the counter that can be used to heat and cook. These devices can run off of gas, even if the burning operation is hidden beneath the surface.
