Today, you can prepare a meal without having a conventional oven or stove in the house. Countertop electric cooking appliances make cooking without a stove or oven easy. There are appliances for making bread, roasts, chili and bacon and eggs. Small electrical appliances can sit on the countertop or be stored in cupboards when not in use.

Convection Ovens/Pizza Ovens

The convection oven can be used to cook just about anything that you would cook in a conventional oven as long as you use a time conversion chart to adjust the cooking times The convection oven can sit on a countertop. Pizza ovens are used for making frozen or homemade pizzas, French bread pizzas and garlic bread. Both the convection oven and the pizza oven can be used to warm bread rolls and hard rolls.

Grills/Griddles

Countertop grills are used indoors to give foods a grilled flavor. Grills come with one- and two-sided grilling options. Some grills have interchangeable plates that turn the grill into a griddle or flat griddles for cooking pancakes, sandwiches, eggs and bacon.

Bread Machines

Bread machines sit on the countertop and are an easy way to make homemade bread with a package bread mix or a bread recipe. The machines mix, knead and bake the breads. There are different-size bread makers, so you can make single loaves or double loaves of bread.

Deep Fryers

A deep-fryer sits on the countertop. These come in various sizes and make deep-fried fish, cheese nuggets, breaded chicken, and French fries. Digital deep-fryers have dials for lifting and lowering the food basket and some deep-fryers are simple and require the user to lower and lift the basket with a handle. Some deep-fryers have closed lids during the frying process, while others have open tops.

Slow-Cookers

Slow-cookers can make meals quickly or slowly. They can make a roast, beef stew or chili all day or within hours, depending on the setting. Low settings are used for all-day cooking and high settings cook quickly.
